blue button What do we mean by independent advice?

IAS believes the role of a truly independent advisor should be very different to that of an independent salesman, (which more aptly describes the current state of the advisory market-place), encompassing total objectivity and impartiality.

blue button What makes IAS so different?

  • We are not influenced by insurance commissions and will actively counsel you against buying insurance or investment products where we perceive these to be unnecessary, inflexible or overpriced.

  • We do not regard ourselves as being in business to sell you financial products. We believe it is imperative that you both understand the impact of charges on purchasing a financial product and take steps to reduce such charges where possible. We will guide you in this process and will obtain favourable nil commission terms on your behalf, when this is appropriate.

  • Our advice is predominantly fee based, with fees abated by any commission which may be received. We will agree with you a basis of remuneration in advance of acting - we aim at all times to demonstrate value for money. In short, IAS provides clients with advice that meets the real test of independence. In doing so, we bring to bear an objectivity that is difficult to find in a marketplace which remains predominantly focused on the generation of commission.

blue button What else can you rely on when dealing with IAS?

  • No delegation - all advisory work will be undertaken at partner level. You can be certain, therefore, that an experienced practitioner will look after your affairs.

  • Commitment - IAS hopes to establish long-term relationships with all of its clients - we value our relationship with you.

  • Technical excellence - our aim is to afford you access to the highest level of technical competence at a cost that is affordable. We are constantly updating our range of technical memoranda to reflect legislative changes and market innovations.

  • Practical delivery - we make a point of providing jargon-free advice in a manner that is readily understandable. The rationale for adopting a particular course of action will be clearly set out in writing and we take steps to involve you in all stages of the decision making process.

In summary, we give advice the way we would expect to receive it if we were standing in your shoes. This is the essence of our approach to providing you with a service that you can trust and rely on.
